FIJI will look into ways of developing investment and trade with Bangladesh.

This was a topic of discussion when the permanent secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, Saipora Mataikabara, received Fiji's honorary consul in Dhaka, Seemab Rasheed, who was on a short visit to Fiji on Tuesday.

Mr Rasheed, who was appointed Fiji's honorary consul in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on January 19 this year held discussions with Mrs Mataikabara on the potential Bangladesh could offer Fiji in terms of trade and investment.

The discussions were featured on what the consulate could do to develop these two areas.

Mr Rasheed, who is the director of the Chowdury Group of Companies which comprise 13 companies in Bangladesh, is a graduate of Indiana University in the US.

He is a business community leader and secretary general of Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
