THE Tagi Vonolagi- coached Tailevu Naitasiri side needs only a draw in its final pool match today to qualify for the semi-finals of the Courts Inter District Championship premier division.

This is after Tailevu Naitasiri recorded their third consecutive win yesterday.

In an exciting fixture Tailevu Naitasiri edged Taveuni 2-1 at the academy ground.

The match lived up to expectations with vocal support from both sides.

The two teams had earlier met in the Viti Levu versus Vanua Levu premier league play-off which was drawn.

Yesterday Tailevu Naitasiri took the lead in the 19th minute through striker Jale Vota.

Tailevu Naitasiri led 1-0 at the break. The southerners doubled their scoreline two minutes into the second spell through Shelveen Prasad.

Vonolagi said they needed to maintain their momentum.

He said a win against a quality side like Taveuni was a morale booster.

"It is three out of three," the former national captain said.

"We have overcome Taveuni who we played last weekend in the Viti Levu versus Vanua Levu premier playoffs and now face Nasinu. The aim is to maintain the momentum."

"The players are slowly combining. The boys will need to be focussed against Nasinu. We did not have much recovery playing two matches on a day. There was only two hours rest between the games but we won."

"Taveuni is a good side however we played according to our game plan coming in with a lot of crosses. We are in a very tough pool. Nasinu has recorded big score lines in the tournament and we are aware of that."

Also yesterday Tailevu Naitasiri hammered Nadogo 6-0.

Tailevu Naitasiri will face Nasinu at Govind Park at 12.45pm.
