Lanky Lala wins fun run

ASINATE Lala of Outrigger on the Lagoon was in cloud nine yesterday after winning the Coca Cola Amatil 21-kilometre Fun Run event.

The lanky 21-year-old stopped the clock at one hour, running from the Hideaway Resort to Sigatoka Town. It was her first outing in the competition but she labelled it as the best.

Lala, who hails from Narata, Conua, said she did prepared herself well for the run.

"This is the first time for me to compete in this Bilibili race and I am happy to start it on a winning note," she said.

Hideaway Resort finished second while Naviti Resort was third in the event. Lala said it was a tough .

"I never knew that I was going to win. I just went out there and gave my best shot. I want to thank my teammates and Outrigger for giving me an opportunity to represent the hotel at this level," the soft spoken Lala added.
