Friendly ties to improve

The Government of India will continue to work with Fiji to further strengthen its relationship with the country.

In his message on Fiji Day, India's High Commissioner Vinod Kumar conveyed his greetings to all the people of Fiji, and wished them continued progress and prosperity.

"India and Fiji share traditional friendly ties.

"Our governments have been working together to further enhance our bilateral relations and co-operation," Mr Kumar said.

He also highlighted that it was good to see that people-to-people contact between the two countries have been increasing in recent times.

India's President Pranab Mukherjee on behalf of the people of India also extended his greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the lndependence Day of the Republic of Fiji.

"India and Fiji have traditionally enjoyed warm and cordial relations, based on mutual respect and goodwill.

"I am confident that these relations will continue to strengthen in the years to come," said Mr Kumar.
