A 36-YEAR-OLD farmer of Nayarabale Village in Cakaudrove died after a tree he was cutting fell and struck his thighs on Tuesday.
Confirming this, police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said yesterday the deceased was using a chainsaw along with 20 youths in the village when the incident happened.
"The tree fell and hit his thighs causing excessive loss of blood as a result of severe injuries," Ms Naisoro said.
"He (deceased) was conveyed to the Labasa Hospital but pronounced dead on arrival." She said the body was kept at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
