FRENCH Ambassador Gilles Montagnier has urged media organisations to be more open-minded and stop self-censoring themselves.
Mr Montagnier said as Fiji is on its way to democracy the media should take advantage of the removal of censorship by the government.
He also highlighted that France was the first country to acknowledge the progress Fiji had made in returning to democracy.
"The government of France is following the day-to-day progress Fiji is making," Mr Montagnier said.
He said the People's Charter was a revolution process for Fiji, paving ways for many positive developments.
"The Fiji government's roadmap to democracy is true and we respect it," Mr Montagnier added.
