AN appeal was launched by the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday to raise funds for ex-servicemen in Fiji.
Launching the famous Poppy Appeal, Commodore Bainimarama said, the appeal would run for the next four weeks throughout the country.
"Proceeds collected from the one-month appeal will go towards supporting the Ex-servicemen's Association, an organisation that provides critical services for our ex-servicemen and women," Commodore Bainimarama said.
He said the men and women risked their lives in the line of duty and it was our duty to honour them and remember all those who had made their sacrifice in the service.
"By wearing a Poppy we are showing our support and gratitude," he said.
