Defending champions of the Inter District Championship, Labasa, arrived in Ba late yesterday afternoon to complete their preparations for the tournament which starts tomorrow.

Team publicity officer Masood Ali said all local players travelled with the side from Labasa to Ba while Papua New Guinea based played Wira Wama was already in Nadi since his arrival a few days ago and joined the side yesterday.

His Hekari United teammate Kema Jack may not participate in the Courts sponsored tournament as he has not arrived in the country yet because of personal commitments.

Ali said the team was looking forward to defending the title they won last year beating Ba 1-0 at Suva's National Stadium.

The Babasiga Lions are pooled with Navua, Tavua, Nadroga and Lautoka and he said they would not underestimate any team in the tournament.

"We are not underestimating any team in the tournament but we want to win all our games in the tournament," Ali said.

"It will not be an easy task but the boys are geared up for the tournament," he said.

He said the main message to the team from the coaching and management staff was to follow the game plan.

"The team needs to stick to the game plan the coaches have set for them and we need to score goals.

"Because if we do not score we will not win.

"So when we face Navua in the first match of Wednesday we want to score as many goals as possible to start the tournament on a good note and to have more goals to our name," Ali said.

The IDC begins tomorrow and will be played till October 14 at Ba's Govind Park.
