NEWLY-formed Frendz Sports Club from Sigatoka has been boosted by a gift from a former Fiji citizen residing in the US.

Ariva Damuni from San Francisco in the US gave a new set of uniforms to help in the development of the club and sport.

Club official Judy Kumar said Damuni had also committed in providing them with the water bottles, balls and volleyball nets.

"Our club is very much happy with the sponsorship that has boosted our support for young players to develop and have more reps to represent Nadroga for upcoming tournaments," Kumar said.

"Our club has two volleyball teams affiliated to Nadroga Volleyball and one open under-23 men and two mixed teams affiliated to Coral Coast Men and Mixed Netball.

"We also have an open women's team affiliated under Navosa Netball."

The Frendz Sports Club was formed in May this year and has 72 registered players.

"Our main aim is to develop our young talents before taking them to the next level," Kumar said.

Meanwhile, the club is organising the Quality Rentals Coral Coast Netball tournament on October 20 at Lawaqa courts.

Kumar said the tournament would give clubs from Sigatoka and Navosa a good exposure to high level competition.
