THE High Court in Suva has sentenced a 33-year-old welder convicted of murdering his defacto partner to 18 years imprisonment yesterday.
Suresh Chandra of Nasinu appeared before Judge Justice Paul Madigan.
The court heard that Chandra was in a relationship with the deceased even though he was married with a child.
In January last year Chandra was drinking alcohol with the deceased and the landlord, then hit her in the mouth following an argument.
