NATIONAL rep Repeka Lasaqa guided her Neighbours side to victory during the Nadi Volleyball Association knockout competition at the Airports Fiji Limited hard courts in Namaka on Saturday.

Lasaqa's Neighbours walked away with the women's title after beating Delana in two straight sets.

Neighbours won 25-10, 25-19.

The Votualevu Youth team won the men's title. Votualevu Youth with the inclusion of former Votualevu Volleyball Association reps edged a powerful Legalega Faith side 2-1 in the final.

Legalega Faith caught the Votualevu Youth team off guard winning the first set 26-24. Votualevu Youth came back to level the match by winning the second set 25-20. The third set went down to the wire with Votualevu Youth holding their nerves to win 15-13.

In the semi-final Votualevu Youth defeated Neighbours 2-0. They won 15-6, 15-9. Legalega downed Delana in the other semi-final in two straight sets 15-9, 19-17.

NVA secretary Anasa Qio said there was stiff competition during the knockout competition.

He said they were also able to complete many other club games on Saturday.

"The highlight of Saturday was the completion of the knockout competition," Qio said.

"In the women's final current national rep Repeka Lasaqa led her Neighbours side to topple Delana. Lasaqa will feature for Nadi this season."

"Other notable names in Nadi this year are the likes of national beach volleyball rep Finau Waqa playing for the Lanai club while Neighbours will feature former national power spiker Josevata Draunibaka and beach volleyball rep Eroni Nainima. Northern Stars is led by former Fiji rep Dan Vakadranu."

The NVA club games will continue at the same venue next Saturday.
