THE Women in Sports Commission of Fiji will hold its annual "Walk & Talk" event on October 20 in Suva.
Organised by the commission in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Awareness and the Ministry of Health, the daylong event will have various activities organised to raise awareness on breast cancer.
"Entry fee is $2, which will be donated to the Fiji Cancer Society to support the cause to end breast cancer," Commission president Susie Yee said.
"All participants are asked to wear pink, as there will be prizes during the morning."
Yee said the walk would commence at Sukuna Park with warm up exercises at 7.30am followed by the walk proper to start at 8am along Victoria Parade to the seawall turning around at the Fiji National University catering school and back.
"Following the walk, light refreshment will be served, with several guest speakers including International Olympic Committee member Dr. Robin Mitchell, together with several women speaking of their experiences as breast cancer survivors," she added.
"Free medical checks will also be available during the day along with children's activities of "Art on the Go" and other awareness booths."
Registration forms are available at the FASANOC office at 17 Bau Street, Suva or on their website www.fijiolympiccommittee.com
