FOURTEEN rural primary schools around the country have been assisted with mEducation tool kits as Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation aims to enhance the learning environment in Fiji.

Foundation executive officer Ambalika Devi said the tool kit provided easy internet access for students and teachers from school instead of having to travel to internet shops in town.

"This kind of technology would help empower teachers and students to access more information," she said.

"The teachers can now download information, five times more data, and carry this package from one classroom to another with project information on the white board for all children to see and hear.

"The mEducation tool kit, which allows for online accessing of approved educational sites, is benefitting more than 3000 students in these schools."

The mEducation sets comprise of an internet accessing web-box, a computer screen, VGA converter, connectors, and speakers.

Ms Devi said the foundation had set its eyes in delivering mEducation to 100 primary schools by 2013.
