PHIVERS won the women's competition during the Topline Volleyball Association knockout competition at the multipurpose courts in Lautoka yesterday.

The Phivers team topped the round robin competition.

TVA president Ratu Viliame Naulivou said they were forced to utilise the multipurpose courts due to the high interest.

He said there was only one court at Natokowaqa.

Ratu Viliame said there was a backlog of matches in the men's competition.

He said these would be played on Wednesday.

"In the men's competition only the winner and runner-up of one pool has been decided," Ratu Naulivou said.

"We had a total of 12 teams in the men's category and started the games in the morning. It is unfortunate that we were unable to complete the pool game since we were only utilising the lone court in Natokowaqa. We hope to complete the knockout on Wednesday."

Meanwhile Liberty was placed first in Pool Two while Outsiders was the runner-up.
