FIJI under-19 women's coach Laisiasa Puamau is having nightmares trying to name his final team to the FIBA Oceania Youth Basketball Championship next month.

Puamau is expected to name the final 10-member team on Monday. He said he was happy with the progress of the players at training as they prepare to take on Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Guam, New Caledonia, Tahiti and Papua New Guinea.

"Right now every player is putting their hands up for selection, they have improved vastly at training and I am happy with the progress so far," he said.

Puamau said fitness would be one of Fiji's strengths at the tournament.

"I am really happy with the fitness of the players, they have been working very closely with our trainer, Ben Qumi, the Marist coach..

"Everything is working well for us and we are looking forward to the tournament in Australia," Puamau said.

Meanwhile on Thursday night, the Fiji U19 men's side had a warm-up match against the Warriors basketball club.
