THIS year's Leadership Fiji participants - LF2012 - partnered Habitat for Humanity Fiji (HFHF) to build two houses for flood victims at Sovi Bay off Sigatoka.

A statement said Wilson Rigamoto from HFHF welcomed LF2012 to be part of the NZ-aided project.

The project involved building two houses in line with the disaster recovery projects carried out by HFHF in areas affected by the flooding in March.

HFHF has rebuilt the homes of 46 families affected by hurricane Tomas which struck in March 2010.

LF 2012 group spent a day at the site helping with painting and general construction work.

The statement said the event was a great learning experience for emerging leaders and gave them a better understanding of what it takes to deliver change in peoples lives via charity and community work. LF2012 gave hard hats, hammers, measuring tapes and gloves as part of the successful completion of the project.
