BIOsecurity Authority of Fiji has spent almost $1.3million on Operation Kadivuka so far, says chief executive officer Elvis Silverstrini.
"During the second phase of the Kadivuka Operation, BAF teams had rehabilitated 20 infested schools and 865 homes spending almost $1.3million on the operation," Mr Silvestrini said.
"It's been established for over 15 years in Fiji and it is now a question of containment not eradication of these termites," he said.
"This in itself was an extraordinary feat and we also completed the survey of termite infested areas in Labasa."
Mr Silvestrini said the team also continued with awareness and training programs for the communities on preventative measures of termite infestation.
Operation Kadivuka was launched in 2010 to contain and control Asian Subterranean Termite infestation.
Mr Silvestrini has encouraged the public to report any sign of termite activity or infestation to their nearest BAF office.
