PLANNED work for the construction of the $21million campus for the Fiji National University depends on when the university receives the land lease from the Department of Lands.

FNU vice-chancellor Dr Ganeshwar Chand said this was what they were waiting for before contractors move in to begin construction works.

"We're still waiting for the Lands department to give us the lease for the land," Dr Chand said.

He sad they had been following up with the department on a weekly basis but had yet to receive any confirmation on when that would be given.

Divisional surveyor northern Tevita Nalawa said the Department of Town and Country Planning was working on the proposed scheming plan.
