HIGH school students in the capital continue to defy pleas for a stop to violence over the past week.
In the latest incident, four students were taken into police custody yesterday for allegedly assaulting a Suva Grammar School student.
The four students include three from Marist Brothers' High School and one from Ratu Sukuna Memorial School.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro confirmed the alleged assault took place at the victim's home in Nasinu on Tuesday night.
"The report claims a group of students went to the home of the victim and asked to see the victim following which he was allegedly assaulted outside his home," Ms Naisoro said.
"The mother of the victim reported the matter to police," she said.
Ms Naisoro said one of the students was likely to be charged in connection with the incident.
"The four are currently in police custody and it is highly likely that one of them will be charged later tonight (last night)," she said.
MBHS principal John Atalifo confirmed the school had received word of the latest incident.
"Yes I am aware of that incident but it happened outside school hours so it's not the responsibility of the school. It's the responsibility of the parents," Mr Atalifo said.
