DEVOTEES at the Naqara temple in Taveuni received their Shree Ganesh statue at the weekend, in time for the 11-day prayer as part of the Ganesh Utsav festival.
Temple member Satiya Nand said this year's festival was memorable as they received their statue made specially in India to be placed at the temple. More than 100 devotees were part of the celebration. "We prayed for 11 days, performed the pooja and listened to sermons before we put the idol in the river," Mr Nand said.
