OF the 29 capital projects undertaken by the Water Authority of Fiji for 2011 and 2012, 20 have been completed.
Spokesman Maika Nagalu said the projects included upgrading water mains and treatment plants, purchasing pumps, purchasing and installing generators, payments and construction of water supply in rural areas.
He said about $2.5million was budgeted for the projects and WAF committed about $2million for the completion of the 20 projects.
"Out of the completed projects, six were rural water supply projects," he said in a statement.
"These projects were aimed at improving water supply to villages within Fiji's 14 provinces."
Mr Nagalu said Vatulili Village, Navukece in Naitasiri, Draiba villages — Namataku/Navosa, Nasovatava — Waicoba/Nadroga, Nasukamai Village — Nalawa/Ra and Naiviqiri Village - Navakasiga/ Bua, benefited from the projects.
