UPSETS were recorded during the Ramesh Investments/Superfoods Supermarket-sponsored doubles snooker tournament at the Lautoka Club on Sunday.
The unlikely combination of Ajesh Chand and K Lal won the one-day event. They defeated the pair of Vinesh Prasad and Vineet Gounder 2-0 in the final.
Veteran K Lal displayed some exquisite shots during the final.
In the semi-final Ajesh Chand and K Lal downed Philip Gock and Ramesh Chand 2-1.
Vinesh Prasad and Vineet Gounder beat Vinay Madhwan and Armin 2-0 in their semi-final fixture.
Lautoka Club sports chairman Anil Kumar said the doubles tournament proved to be interesting.
He said the players were first ranked in two categories.
"The partners were picked out of the hat," Kumar said.
"The teams were evenly matched. There were many upsets recorded. We hope to hold more tournaments."
