Town plans for 2013

THE Rakiraki Town Council has revealed its projected budget for 2013.

While revealing its new capital plans for the rest of the year, special administrator Seini Raiko said the council would gain an average revenue of about $24,600 every month next year.

Ms Raiko said the council's expenses, however, would exceed revenue.

"Based on our 2012 figures, our expected expenses will be $26,042 per month," she said.

Ms Raiko said there were several avenues through which the council was generating money for daily operations apart from money received from ratepayers.

"These are market fees, permit fees, commercial stand fees, business licences fees, development application fees and garbage fees."

Despite this, Ms Raiko said the council had yet to receive fees for the use of the bus stand by commercial buses.
