CLOSE to a hundred civil servants from the Western Division celebrated World Health Day at Churchill Park on Friday.

Organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Lautoka office, the celebration began with a four-kilometre fun run and a session of zumba dancing led by the Toso Dance Fitness team.

Chief guest, permanent secretary for Youth and Sports Joseva Sania said the day was an important event to celebrate youth, health and fitness.

Mr Sania said it was important that members of government recognised the importance of healthy living and physical activity.

Highlighting the dangers of non-communicable diseases and its number increasing locally, Mr Sania said it was vital that people should engage in physical activity to ensure they stayed healthy while maintaining a healthy diet that should be practised by all age groups.
