A HEAVY rain warning was issued by the Nadi Weather Office last night.

Senior meteorologist Amit Singh says the warning remains inforce for most parts of the Fiji Group and as a result, localise flooding could also occur.

“Fiji will experience the effects of a trough of low pressure over the group until midday today,” he said.

Mr Singh said an ealier warning for the Yasawas, Mamanuca Group, Western Viti Levu, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele and nearby smaller islands was later cancelled last night. He said another trough was also forming and its effects would be felt from Wednesday. “The trough will bring rain as well,” he said.
