THE inclusion of Fiji under-21 netball players in the senior national squad will help their preparation for the World Youth Championship in Scotland next year, says team manager Della Shaw.
Ilisapeci Cama, Afa Rusivakula, Mere Serea, Taufa Taga, Unaisi Dilario, Seini Vunibaka, Ana Rusivakula, Sala Tagilala, Raijieli Daveua and Bulou Masivou are the U21 players included in the national training squad for the 2012/13 season.
Shaw said they had a good discussion with the national team management before agreeing to release the under-21 players.
"We managers sat down and talked about what the training programs the senior and the U21 team will be undergoing just to ensure we don't clash," she said.
"We have a common goal and the national team is paramount so we had to release the girls."
Shaw said training alongside senior reps and under a more professional environment would lift the performance of the under-21 players.
"They will learn a lot from those experienced reps in the national squad and share the knowledge with their teammates when they re-join the Fiji U21 squad."
Meanwhile, the Fiji U21 players are following individual training programs given by coach Moape Vu and Shaw said they would conduct a fitness test in November to monitor the progress of the players.
The players also have strength building exercises twice a week and a court session once a week to aid their individual training.
