THE Lautoka business house squash league competition will be officially launched at the Northern Club this evening.
A total of 10 teams will participate in the six week event, sponsored by P Meghji, starting next month.
The tournament will attract top players in Lautoka including Fiji number one Justin Ho.
Tournament controller Eremasi Matanatabu said a lot of young players would feature in the teams.
He said the sport of squash was flourishing in Lautoka.
"Initially we had about 20 business houses interested in registering but we had to cut the number to 10 because of the time factor," Eremasi said.
"We will have a big launch for the business house squash league which will run for six weeks.
"All the top players from Lautoka will be participating in the event. Justin, who is the Fiji number one, and rising star Marika Matanatabu will be featuring with Fiji squad member Romit Meghji.
"The players have been ranked and evenly distributed amongst the teams. There will be a lot of squash played at the Northern Club over the next six weeks."
