Fiji-born Bollywood singer Sumeet Tappoo and his team from India rocked a jam-packed crowed at the National Gymnasium with his scintillating performance last night.
Many were thrilled to see Tappoo in his new avatar of Bollywood songs, dubbing him as one of the best singers.
The crowd stood up, cheered and clapped following the wonderful performances by Tappoo and his crew.
Concert promoter Raj Bachu of Pawon Promotions said he was happy with the response from members of the public.
"The ticket sales have been very high. I can say it's fantastic and brilliant," Mr Bachu said.
With Tappoo more famous for his devotional songs, his new transformation into Bollywood, was well welcomed by the audiences.
Tappoo sang the latest film hits of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ateeef Aslam, Mohit Chauhan and Sonu Nigam.
He also sang the hits of Rafi, Kishor and Mukesh — hits of the 60s & 70s.
Tappoo was backed by a full orchestra of musicians from Bollywood while dancers accompanied him on the stage with his songs.
The next show will be held at Tilak High School auditorium in Lautoka today and at Swami Vivekananda College in Nadi on Sunday.
