Never forgotten

A LONE bugler sounded the Last Post at the Labasa Police Station grounds as the sun rose while police officers stood in silence to remember their fallen comrades yesterday.

Tears flowed freely as the names of loved ones who died in the line of duty were announced.

Divisional Police Commander Northern Senior Superintendent of Police Fulori Rainibogi said the Remembrance Day was a time for remembering comrades that have died in the line of duty.

"Since last year we have been holding our remembrance day celebrations at 5am as it is a good time to organise such events as we reflect on the past in the silence of a new day," she said. Yesterday members of the police force in Labasa remembered two comrades that died in the line of duty.
