FORMER Fiji Bati team manager Timoci Vatubuli has been named coaching co-ordinator for the Tumbarumba Rugby League club in New South Wales, Australia.

Vatubuli was given a contract to coach the club’s first grade team in April, however, at the end of the season, he was given a multiple task.

The Namalata native from Kadavu is now the coaching director, first grade coach, development and recruitment officer.

Vatubuli said he grabbed the opportunity with both hands knowing it could be the door to greener pastures.

“I’m so thankful to God for providing me with this opportunity to be associated with this club. I really enjoy my job at this club. Now that they have given me this new post, it is a challenge but I am looking forward to giving everything back to the club,” he said.

The former Fiji Bati also thanked the club for having faith and offering him a new contract. Vatubuli was offered a two-year contract while the third year varies.

“I will be going with my family next year, the club is a family-oriented club and they supported me a lot during my short term there. I am happy with the offer and I have no regrets of the last few months that I left my family behind. It has paid off and I am ready to go back and carry out my responsibilities,” he added.

Vatubuli coaches Fijians, Iliesa Takubu and Peniasi Wakawaka of the Sabeto Roosters and Nabua Broncos duo Etuate Tagicakibau and Aporosa Vosataki.
