FLYING Fijians coach Inoke Male has named a good mix of local and overseas-based players in the 36-member squad for the November Tour.

Male named equal proportion of local and overseas-based reps — 18 players each — in the extended squad yesterday.

Some notable names plying their trade offshore included in the team are former skippers Deacon Manu and Netani Talei, Campese Ma'afu, Ravai Fatiaki, Josh Matavesi, Timoci Matanavou and Vereniki Goneva.

Former sevens stars, Nemani Nagusa, Nikola Matawalu, Watisoni Votu, Metuisela Talebula and Waisea Nayacalevu, who snapped overseas deals this year, have also been drafted.

Top local guns Setefano Somoca, Kelemedi Bola, Leone Nakarawa, Jonetani Ralulu and Seremaia Naureure have got a nod along with other impressive players from the Digicel Cup and Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy competitions.

Notable exclusion from the side is Seremaia Bai, Napolioni Nalaga and Akapusi Qera.

Male said the players included in the squad were "based on merit and the selection criteria".

He added the overseas-based players would be under the monitoring program through their respective club coaches and trainers.

"The local players will camp from October 1 to 3, so that we can start preparing them for the tour, as for the overseas-based players, they are expected to start arriving into the country from October 8," Male said.

"I will name the final squad in mid-October, leading up to the tour."

Male also said the England-based reps would join the team in London.

The Flying Fijians will meet England on November 10, Gloucester on November 13, Ireland A on November 17 and Georgia on November 24 during the tour.
