STUDENTS of AD Patel College in Ba collected over 100 garbage bags full of rubbish when they took part in the Go Green clean-up campaign last Friday.

The school first took part in the Bank of South Pacific initiative last year and were excited to join the environmental cause this time around.

"The students were excited. It wasn't just a time for us to come together and bond as a school but also to promote a cause that we know is worthy for our generation and the generations to come," said teacher Samlesh Chand.

Over 100 students from Forms Three to Five took part in the hour-long clean-up.

Mr Chand said they started the campaign cleaning up in the school and went as far as the Sahaj Supermarket.

"Prior to this, we had students in the Duke of Edinburgh program and scouts in the school clean-up of the Mission Hospital in Ba Town.

"Even before and after the Go Green clean-up campaign, our school is committed to its environmental role of cleaning our surroundings," he said.

AD Patel College was one of over 70 schools that had registered with BSP for the environmentally-friendly campaign.
