IT was a big payday for Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Limited shareholders yesterday as the company paid a final dividend of over $8.44million or 2 per cent share.
In a statement signed by ATH director Arun Narsey and company secretary Ivan Fong, 897 shareholders were expected to receive their share of the final dividend yesterday either through the mail or direct deposit into their bank accounts.
"The two largest shareholders, the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) and the government will receive $4.9m and $2.9m respectively," the statement said.
The final dividend was declared by shareholders at their annual general meeting on August 29, 2012. It is in addition to an interim dividend of over $4.22m that was paid on March 14 (this year) and brings the total dividends paid out to $12,663,164.04 for the financial year ending March 31.
It was earlier reported the group made an improvement in profits from $4.1m in the 2011 financial year to $18.3m in the 2012 financial year.
