THE Standing Committee meeting of the Methodist Church in Fiji will take place tomorrow.
Newly-appointed general secretary Reverend Tevita Nawadra said the meeting would be a follow-up to last month's annual conference.
He said they would discuss issues that were dropped from the conference.
"These include the appointments of church members, especially pastors, to circuits and divisions and the church budget," Mr Nawadra said.
When asked whether the church had applied for a permit for another meeting, he said they had an agreement with the police that they would only interfere if the need arose.
In this case, he said, they were not required to apply for a permit.
However, they have written to Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua to inform him of their meeting. He said the three-day conference was insufficient to discuss the entire agenda.
"We had to rush through some critical topics without in-depth discussions," he said.
