STUDENTS of Ratu Emeri Catholic Primary School in Bua need to be praised for setting a good example to all schools around Fiji.
Education permanent secretary Dr Brij Lal said regardless of religion and race, all schools in Fiji should learn to sing the national anthem in the three main languages.
He said this was the way Fiji should be and that it was important for Fijians to appreciate the different cultures and traditions.
"We have been trying to encourage this in schools where students sing the national anthem in the three languages and I salute Ratu Emeri School for this," Dr Lal said.
He said schools should not focus on the religion they practise but consider other students who have become part of their society.
The students of Ratu Emeri sing the national anthem every morning in Hindi.
