THE Suva Retailers Association has assured customers all goods at the annual Suva on Sale event will be scrutinised to ensure quality.
In the past, consumers often complained of old stock and stock in poor condition being sold at the week-long event.
Suva Retailers Association president Himmat Lodhia yesterday said all stock on sale would be up to standard.
"Of course, there will be some old stock but there will also be a lot of new stock people will bring in," he said.
"There will definitely be no expired stock — we will be scrutinising all stock." Mr Lodhia said he wanted to ensure the public that they would get value for their money during the sale.
He said the association expected people from all over the country to come in and take advantage of the bargain prices.
"We have seen that even people from overseas are marking the Suva on Sale week on their calendars because of the low prices during this time.
"Weather permitting, we expect to have good takings during the sale but it's too difficult to place a number on the amount."
Suva will go on sale starting on October 13 and ending on October 20.
