POLICE have charged an American citizen with the murder of two people in Vunivau, Labasa last week.
Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the former Fiji resident has been charged with two counts of murder and one of attempted murder.
He said a post mortem examination of the bodies had been completed. He said the deceased, a 53-year-old woman and the 93-year-old man, died as a result of severe injuries. He said the third count of attempted murder was connected to an attack on a 23-year-old-girl who remains admitted in a stable condition at Labasa Hospital. Insp Sokomuri said the man would be produced in court tomorrow.
