AFTER the capture of the final escapee yesterday, police are targeting those who helped and harboured the five following their escape from the Naboro medium facility last week.

Fiji Police chief of operations Assistant Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said they were aware that a lot of people provided assistance and harboured the escapees while on the run.

"We will carry on our operation to arrest them and ensure that they face the full brunt of the law," ACP Tudravu said.

He said they would dig up all information and ensure those behind were taught a lesson. ACP Tudravu reiterated that under the Crimes Decree, harbouring an escapee was illegal and anyone caught could face seven years imprisonment.

He appealed to the public that if they had any information about those who harboured an escapee or assisted them in anyway to contact police.
