THE Natokowaqa Topline Public Rental Boards Youth Group officially opened its $15,000 volleyball court in Lautoka yesterday.
Along with the opening of the new court, the youth group also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lautoka City Council and was presented with a $4000 cheque from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The court which is expected to host local and national volleyball tournaments was opened by Minister for Youth and Sports Commander Viliame Naupoto.
Mr Naupoto said this volleyball court will help cultivate youths who would benefit from this project.
"The individual and group expression displayed by young people together with the needed social skills to induce excellence at these courts reinforces our common bonds that's needed for general stability and prosperity in our communities," said Mr Naupoto.
"I am informed that through this facility the Topline Volleyball Association will be able to organise tournaments and have already attracted teams from as far as Rakiraki, Vatukoula and Tavua."
