PACIFIC Sun Labasa bound flights have been put on hold until the end of this week as the company continues with further inspection of the runway.

General manager Shaenaz Voss said with the company's continued efforts to find a proper resolution to the runway restrictions of its ATR-42 aircraft operation in Labasa, further inspections of the runway would be carried out by independent engineers today.

"In light of the necessary inspections, Pacific Sun keeps its flights on hold between Suva or Nadi and Labasa until Thursday September 27," Ms Voss said.

"The airline continues to work with Airports Fiji Limited to resolve the issue," she said.

She has urged customers whose flights had been cancelled contact the airline's call centre for alternative arrangements, including the option of flying to Savusavu.

Northern Air is so far the only airline servicing the Labasa route from Suva.
