THE government has received $1million worth of office equipment.
The equipment was given to the government by the Chinese government.
The equipment was given while China and Fiji signed two new agreements at the Sheraton Fiji Resort in Nadi last week.
Ministry of Finance permanent secretary Filimoni Waqabaca said the equipment presented would be used by the various ministries.
Permanent secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, Colonel Pio Tikoduadua said the two agreements signed between Fiji and China was a testament of the two countries' strong partnership.
Col. Tikoduadua said the personal visit by China's chief legislator, chairman and party secretary of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress, Wu Bannguo, was a testament of China's commitment to Fiji.
"He is highly influential in China and for him to come here and recognise Fiji and what's happening here says a lot," said Col. Tikoduadua.
