THE Fiji Gold Nasinu Netball Association paid tribute to its hard working technical officials at their annual awards night at Noble House in Suva on Saturday.

Association president Alini Sovu said the technical officials worked hard throughout the season to make the weekly club games happen.

While thanking them for their contribution towards the association, Sovu said they deserved the recognition.

"The feature of the awards night is probably the technical officials' awards," Sovu said.

"They have been working hard behind the scene to make the games happen and it's only fitting we recognise their hard work during our awards night."

Apart from the technical awards, the association also accorded its best players and teams.

The knockout competition winner prize went to Hopper-Raiona One while Tailevu was the runner-up.

In the club competition, Adi Cakobau School Old Girls won the premier grade while Tailevu was the runner-up.

ACSOG's Helen Panapasa received the Best Player award.

Creed won the senior grade with Covenant Sisters Two finishing second and Nawavatu grabbed the Reserve grade with Classic Apparel finishing as runner-up.

Lanieta Tuisasa (Creed) and Kasanita Bulouvou (Nawavatu) received the best player award in the senior and reserve grade respectively.

Sovu said they had a successful season with 28 teams — seven more than last year — affiliated with them.

She said they expected an increase in the number of teams next year.
