VODAFONE Amalgamated Telecom Holdings Foundation, World of Difference candidate Peni Tabua is promoting physical well-being awareness in the north.
As part of his awareness to communities in the north, Mr Tabua is carrying out free gym sessions in Labasa and visiting communities to promote physical exercise.
"I am promoting health issues and physical well-being to Fijians of Indian descent communities since I believe that these are the groups who are often forgotten," he said.
"Visiting the Wailevu Tiri community has opened my eyes to the need of the people out there."
"Diseases can be prevented by us within our homes and this is possible if we learn to keep and maintain our physical wellness," he said.
Mr Tabua believes that most diseases can be prevented if people in the country learn to take care and value their lives.
"During such awareness programs we often visit communities and donate sporting equipment or help in the improvement of amenities which can help community members enhance their physical well-being.
"Last Saturday we had run a clinic at the gym where people were offered free clinic programs including body mass index tests."
Mr Tabua works closely with the Labasa District Youth Council in reaching out to youths in the north.
