POLICE yesterday ordered the closure of a billiard shop in Labasa Town as a result of rowdy players.
Bystanders outside the billiard shop who wished to remain anonymous said a drunk man walked into the premises and stirred trouble and threatened the caretaker of the shop.
Police officers patrolling the area did not hesitate to take action, arresting the man who was later taken to the Labasa Police Station.
Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri has appealed to billiard shopowners to be mindful of people who enter into their premises for their own safety and the safety of their customers.
"We had ordered the shop owners to vacate the billiard shop as it was full bearing in mind the safety of other people within the premises," said Insp Sokomuri.
