THE star-studded Vatukoro team qualified for the Ra Rugby Union club knockout semi-finals after a no sweat default win over Vunitogoloa at the Ra Sport Complex yesterday.

Vatukoro made up of siblings Neumi Nanuku, Viliame Rawairua and Vereniki Waqa is the top seed in the competition.

RRU secretary Nemani Seru said they witnessed fast paced action during the Conservative International (CI)-sponsored competition. He said the clubs displayed discipline rugby.

"We are glad to have Conservative International as the sponsors and they have donated the Green Pine Shield for the winner," Seru said.

"The games were very entertaining. There were no problems. There are plenty young boys in the teams and their discipline level is quite high."

"We would like to commend the Senivaivai which travels right from Bucalevu for the weekly matches. Every player in the team has to fork out $10 for their return fare for each week and $1 levy for entry and then meals."

"The players are all from the village so the commitment by this team is just encouraging. They haven't missed a game all season."

Results: Senicaucau Two 15 Navatu Reds 13, Vatucere 19 Mataso 28, Senivaivai beat Wailevu.
