MATCHES of the Sanatan Pratinidhi Labasa Soccer Tournament were put on hold yesterday morning as disgruntled teams protested the fielding of a Labasa rep who helped his NNYCD Sanatan team into the semi-finals after beating Bulileka Sanatan.

Police had to intervene to keep the peace at Subrail Park after the NNYCD team lodged a complain at the Labasa Police Station against a protest lodged against them by the Bulileka Sanatan side.

Sanatan Pratinidhi Labasa branch president Sarju Prasad confirmed the protest from the Bulileka Sanatan team.

"They were not happy with the inclusion of a player for NNYCD who did not meet the criteria and one of it is to ensure that teams field players who live in Labasa.

"The disciplinary committee has attended to that and it has been resolved," Prasad said.
