NIKOLA Matawalu has been given the green light to be part of the Fiji sevens side for next year's 7s Rugby World Cup.
The Flying Fijian jetted out of the country on Wednesday to join the Scotland-based Glasgow Warriors side.
Fiji 7s coach Alivereti Dere told the Fiji Rugby Union website that Matawalu was a loss to the 7s side, but they had capable replacements in the squad to take his place.
"I have spoken to him and given him some advice, I have also told him that he will be part of the 7s World Cup team next year and he has agreed," Dere said.
Matawalu, who played an integral part in Fiji 7s colourful campaign last season, wished the national team well for the first leg of the HSBC 7s World Series in Australia.
"I wish them all the best and urge them to play hard, I will miss them, but this is my time to move on and make way for another 7s star."
Matawalu said he rejected the offers from Crusaders, Western Force and a club from Wales to join the Glasgow Warriors.
