FORTY seven students of Nakelo District School in Tailevu will contribute to the cleanliness of their environment today, under a Go Green initiative by the Bank of the South Pacific (BSP).
Class Eight students will commence the hour-long clean-up by digging pits to put containers and other degradable litter into, headteacher Sevanaia Beci told The Fiji Times yesterday.
“The students really appreciate the fact that they’re going to be a part of this initiative and I think it is a very good way of contributing to our community,” he said.
The school aims to clear out all the drains surrounding the school compound and collect all the rubbish that has been dumped in and around the school premises.
The campaign commences at 11am today at the school.
