Kwadjo fight

THE director of Grants Betting Ltd, Peter McCoy is hoping one of the local television companies will telecast a live coverage of Joseph Kwadjo's match against Shalva Jomardashvili next month.

Ghanaian born Kwadjo will line up the Georgian in a super middleweight clash at the Accra Sports Stadium in Ghana. In a statement to Times Sport, McCoy said it would be great fight when the orthodox boxer takes the stage in front of 40,000 spectators.

"I hope that one of the TV companies should try to bring this fight live here," he said. He hopes Kwadjo will get Fijian citizenship so all his fights can be under the Fiji flag. "Kwadjo can be the next gold medallist for Fiji if he is given a chance," McCoy said.

THE Frendz men's netball team plans to tour Australia next year. They have organised the Coral Coast Mixed Netball Championship this weekend to fund the tour.

"This is a fundraising drive for Frendz mens netball for their tour to Australia in January and also to revive the sport in the Coral Coast among the hotels and businesses in the area," Kumar said.

"We are looking at 16 teams for the one-day tournament and entries for it closes on Thursday (today)." Teams like Outrigger, Frendz, Mango Bay, USP, Serua and Jet Set have confirmed their participation.

"We are thankful to the Quality Rentals, Safetech, Amalgamated Pest Control, Foodhall Supermarket, Viable Rentals and Pestkil for their support of the tournament," Kumar said.
