KORO Island students who have been registered to vote are excited about the elections proposed for 2014. And they have informed the Constitution Commission that they want to choose leaders who can make a difference in their lives.
They spoke on a range of issues including the scaling of marks, employment opportunities, development on the islands and gay rights.
The students also highlighted corporal punishment and the constitution must lay out laws for parents.
They told the commission parents' roles were more important and corporal punishment should not be the first choice when punishing a child.
Manasa Bukawaqa proposed that all land and other things that belong to the iTaukei must be protected and safeguarded.
He also proposed that Fiji be declared a Christian State and same sex marriages should never be entertained.
